AAEM24 - Emergency Cancer Care for Dummies

Are you tired of doctor googling your way through those cancer patients checking into your ER? Are you not sure if alemtuzumab and atezolizumab are different, or if they're even both for cancer? Well, I'm here to tell you there's no way around the absolute necessity of google, but there are a few quick easy-to-remember principles that will make your doctor googling far more efficient and productive. Join me for a very informal talk that will include a brief refresher on standard oncologic emergencies and a review of critical concepts for modern cancer care such as "immunotherapy" (or perhaps better defined as "immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy"), CAR-T, and post-operative complications. This session was recorded on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the 30th Annual Scientific Assembly (AAEM24) in Austin, TX.
