The US continues to see high peripartum mortality rates and emergency physicians frequently care for postpartum people in the critical "4th trimester." EPs across a variety of practice settings need to be prepared to diagnose and treat neurologic and cardiovascular emergencies in this population. The session will review best practices for the management of can't miss postpartum emergencies, including peripartum cardiomyopathy, preeclampsia/eclampsia, headaches, HELLP and postpartum depression.
