The purpose of this session is to provide a practical approach to evaluating and managing abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) in the emergency department. There will be a concise review of common and high-risk presentations using a case-based lecture format. Emphasis will be placed on initial stabilization of hemorrhage, targeted diagnostic workup, and a brief review of the PALM-COEIN classification system to guide clinical reasoning. Learners will feel more comfortable with the disposition of these patients, determining when patients are safe for discharge vs. requiring more intensive management.
