AAEM25 - CT Scan Reading
I aim to demystify CT scans for emergency physicians. While we're skilled in EKGs and plain films, we often lack training in CT scan basics. This lecture will teach emergency physicians how to interpret CT scans and identify emergent pathologies. This is especially crucial for night shift physicians in community settings, where scans may not be read for hours. I will cover CT scanning basics, including Hounsfield units, windowing, stranding, and how to quickly identify and manage urgent conditions. This talk is suitable for physicians of all experience levels and practice settings, with a focus on abdominal/pelvic CT scans.
