The term antifragility was coined by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, a professor, trader, and hedge fund manner. In his book, Antifragile: Things that Gain from Disorder, Taleb describes how various systems actually become stronger from the stressors that are placed on them.
In this session we will discuss the various stressors that we face in the daily practice of emergency medicine and how these stressors can be used to improve our ability to better handle the same and other stressors in the future. Understanding how to utilize stress to make ourselves and our trainees more capable for the future is a skill than can be developed like any other skill in our specialty.
