This lecture will discuss several misnomers and dogmas within emergency medicine. We will begin by reviewing when wounds should be loosely approximated, then review how to manage septic and inflammatory olecranon and prepatellar bursitis. Finally, we will conclude with a discussion on why we outline cellulitis and does the spread of erythema indicate failure of treatment.
